It was a 4-day weekend with lots of Easter events and fun to be had!
On Good Friday we took part in a tradition they have here of walking the cross from St. Xavier to Crow (St. Dennis) - 24 miles! We thought they just meant they do a little procession by car but nope, they walk! People take turns walking while the family cars trail behind. Just a couple people started at 9 am and when we arrived at St. Dennis, there was probably about 70 people all together. It was a chilly and windy day, but the forecasted snow held out for us. When we finally made it we feasted on warm stew, bread, and fruit. It was neat to take part in the tradition and join in with the community.

Spent Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning baking lots of Easter goodies from scratch- loved it!
Made these sugar cookies...
homemade vanilla frosting...
and Hershey's recipe chocolate cupcakes. Yum!!
Decorated to be little Easter baskets :)
I had a lovely Easter with Lorna's family on their picnic in Fort Smith (a fishing town just 20 miles south of us, by the Yellowtail Dam and near the Bighorn Canyons)... it was a beautiful day and a fun time with their family. We even had an Easter egg hunt for the little kids and us big kids too. Being with all the kids and a loud and crazy crew I felt right at home! ;)

Thomas... one loud and hilarious 4-year-old (and hard to keep up with!) Love this little dude!
Leah's daughter Adora. She loved the cookie, I swear!
Later in the evening I went to our neighbor Bridgette's house where her whole family was over (I've gotten to know many of them over the months so it was nice to visit with them.) We hung out and watched the Lion King 2 and it was just fun... once again being with a whole big family I felt right at home!
Hope everyone had a lovely Easter weekend! x
